KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Goodwill Industries of Knoxville held its annual Mr. Knoxville fundraiser Thursday night at the Downtown Hilton.
You never know what you're going to see at the annual event and this year’s was no different.
WVLT Volunteer TV News anchor Allison Kropff emceed the competition as men from the community appeared on stage in costumes and showed off their various talents. Some wore body builder outfits and one even came dressed in a kilt.
"Pretty much the whole thing is like a Saturday Night Live skit,” said Stacy Stiles of Goodwill Industries. “Everything is comedic. The guys get out and they just act goofy and they get their costumes from Goodwill."
Tickets sold for $20 each.
When all was said and done, Hot 104.5 DJ Joey Tack brought in the most money on the night, netting $1,471.64. The event as a whole raised $4,109.87 for the charity.
