Monroe County man killed in fatal wreck
A Monroe County man was killed Thursday afternoon when he lost control of his pickup truck.

MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – A Monroe County man was killed Thursday afternoon when he lost control of his pickup truck.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Michael R. Godfrey, 62 of Vonore was headed west on State Hwy 72E around 4:03 p.m. when he veered off the road near Little Tennessee School Rd., and slammed into a tree.
THP’s incident report indicates Godfrey was not wearing a seat belt and had been drinking.
