Candidates begin picking up petitions to run for county office
Friday is the first day individuals planning to run for office in Knox County in 2010 can pick up a nominating petition for the office they're seeking.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Friday is the first day individuals planning to run for office in Knox County in 2010 can pick up a nominating petition for the office they're seeking.
Candidates must get the signatures of 25 registered voters in the candidate's district, if the candidate is running in a district race, or in the county, if the candidate is running countywide.
Here's a list of the Knox County offices being filled in the 2010 election, along with the candidates who have picked up petitions for those races:
