Knoxville (WVLT) - A lawsuit filed by a group of Blount County students over the right to wear a confederate flag will not be heard by a federal judge.
Defense attorney Van Irion tells WVLT Volunteer TV’s Blount Count Bureau Chief Stephen McLamb the lawsuit was thrown out by the judge Thursday afternoon.
Last year, a group of students from William Blount High School sued the school district after they were told they could not wear confederate symbols on their clothes.
Irion says he plans to immediately file an appeal with the US 6th Circuit Court in Cincinnati.
The issue was supposed to go to trial on June 5th in federal court.

It seems Federal Judges are too busy prosecuting Border Patrol Agents and Sheriff's Deputies to hear the truth on anything past or present.
Tinkerv.DesMoinse was a case in the late 60's where 2 students wore black armbands to protest vietnam.the supreme court ruled they had the right to do so.this case is similiar.this is not the only place this has happened in my school a few years back a kid were a confderate flag t shirt to school and was asked to go home and remove not wanting to cause trouble he did.the person that made the complaint had a malcom x shirt which i find offensive because he was a racist people make out to a hero.Long live the south!!!vote conservitive.make a liberals day:recite a piece of history.
