KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Gave you ever been frustrated enough at not being able to use a full tube of lipstick that you’ve melted it to get the last big? If so, an East Tennessee woman has created a product that may be perfect for you.
Jill Quillin is the woman behind LipStix Re-Mix, a device that allows you to mold left over lipstick.
"It started when I needed the product and couldn't find it anywhere on the market," she said.
The premise behind the product is simple. You dig out the left over portion of your lipstick that is left in the container and put it in a measuring cup. You then place it in your microwave, melt it and pour it into the lipstick mold. The final step is to place the mold in a freezer for 10 minutes. The result is a perfectly formed stick to put back inside your tube.
“It's a good insurance policy if you break your lipstick,” Quillin pointed out. “They can repair it and put it back in their lipstick tube."
It can also be useful if you’ve purchased a color that you end up not liking.
"You can put in your different colors and mix together instead of layering on."
It's an idea the Knoxville woman hopes you will love.
"We don't have a crystal ball and we just have to have faith in what we're doing,” she said. “The hard work will pay off."
