BYBEE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A bullet struck a Cocke Co. school bus carrying dozens of children on Tuesday, according to the sheriff's department.
The bus driver told authorities he was heading east on Knox Creek Road when he heard a noise. After completing his route, the driver discovered the bullet hole on the driver's side of the bus and contacted the sheriff's department. (View images of bus)
No one was hurt in the incident.
Deputies returned to the Knob Creek Road area and found the man they think fired the shot, James McGaha. McGaha claimed he used a 30/30 rifle to shoot a dog that was chasing his horses.
They charged him with Reckless Endangerment and Vandalism and seized his rifle.
