ROANE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Helena Harper describes what it's like to have her son back home.
"It was sort of similar to bringing him home from the hospital. We got to see things we don't usually get to see like see him walk again, talk again," Harper said.
Caleb Wilson doesn't remember anything about the night his car slammed into a horse and smashed into a pole last month. But he does remember waking up from his coma.
"The first thing I remember was seeing all my firefighter friends," Caleb said.
Looking at the pictures, he said it doesn't seem real.
"I've been to a lot of car crashes but seeing it was me-- that's what really took me back," Caleb said.
He's recovered from his head injuries but his jaw is still wired shut.
Caleb will be homeschooling the rest of his senior year. He said he can't wait to graduate and get back to saving lives with the Roane County Volunteer Fire Department.
"I would like to thank all of the firefighters, EMT, police, God, the nurses and everybody that said they've been praying for me. It means a whole lot to me," he said.
His mother calls him a 'miracle.'
