KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)- Fire crews have an East Knoxville house fire under control.
Crews were battling heavy flames coming out of a house in the 100 block of Morningside Drive.
The Knoxville Fire Department says significant damage was done to the home- several rooms, the attic and the porch were all impacted by the fire. Crews were called to the scene around 8:30 Saturday night.
A mother and daughter, who were home at the time, were taken to U.T Medical Center with minor burn wounds.
Investigators say they don't know what sparked the fire, but that it appears the two women waited awhile before calling for help.
It's unclear where they pair will stay.
As of now, they home suffered too much damage for them to stay.
