SEEED inspires kids in new building

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- While most people are taking the day off others are volunteering their time to spruce up an old building in East Knoxville.

For more information visit: www.SEEEDknox.org

The Morningside Community Center was a vital part of the neighborhood but for years has been left vacant. However, S.E.E.E.D and Americorps are teaming up to put the building back together to better the area.

S.E.E.E.D stand for Socially Equal Energy Efficient Development, a group that helps impoverished youth get interested in green technology. The goal is to teach the kids about green technology so they can find jobs in the future.

Americorps has volunteered their time but they still need help getting the community center back in shape.
