Two people hurt after Monore Co. shooting

MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT)- Investigators are piecing together what lead to a shooting in Monroe County.

Investigators say two people were taken to U.T. Medical Center after the shooting, which happened around 5 p.m. Friday.

When deputies arrived to the scene on Antioch Church Road near Tellico Plains, they found a woman with a gunshot wound to her head.
She also had an arm injury.

A man at the scene had wounds to his face. He is being looked at as the possible shooter.

Both people are expected to recover from their wounds.

The injured woman had an infant in her care during the shooting.
DCS is working on what to do next with the child.

Charges are pending.
