KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The University of Tennessee has begun an online domestic kitchen certification course.
Domestic Kitchen Food Safety Training provides instruction focused on the state's Domestic Kitchen Rule, which allows people to commercially prepare and sell non-potentially hazardous foods in the home. Examples of these foods include jams, jellies, candies and some baked goods.
Participants who successfully complete the program earn certification from the University of Tennessee Food Science and Technology Extension program. The course also is taught in a traditional classroom setting several times a year.
