(UNDATED) -- Former Tennessee linebacker Nick Reveiz survived several cuts, but he didn't make it past the last one.
On Saturday, Tampa Bay released Reveiz. The Farragut native was one of 27 players the Bucs let go in order to get its roster down to the 53 player limit.
Another area product was also cut, but his bad news was short lived.
Former Powell High School standout Lee Smith was released by the Patriots, only to be picked up by Buffalo on Sunday.
The Patriots drafted Smith out of Marshall in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
