JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman Eagles have signed 32 players on National Signing Day, head coach Ken Sparks announced Wednesday.
The Eagles went 11-3 in 2009, including a 7-0 record in South Atlantic Conference play and a berth in the Division II national semifinals.
Carson-Newman head coach Ken Sparks on Carson-Newman’s signing class:
“We’re excited these young men have chosen to become a part of the Carson-Newman football, and hopefully they understand that this program is unlike any other. We had a lot of work to do I this class and feel like we have met some of our needs. We came within a game of playing for the national title last year, and a big part of that success was a very productive group of seniors, so we certainly had some shoes to fill.”
