Farragut (WVLT) -- West High School soccer head coach George Ashe wanted his guys to be able to explore "what's out there."

A stunning 3-2 win over Farragut in the Region 2-AAA semifinals let's his soccer players become explorers. Regardless of what happens against Oak Ridge in the regional finals, the Rebels are guaranteed a berth in the sectionals--a rarity for West soccer.

It was 90 minutes of tight soccer Tuesday night at Farragut High School. So tight, 90 minutes wasn't enough to get the game in the books.

Tied 1-1, the battle went into overtime. West's Tanner Thompson struck first in the extra session. But the Rebel lead was short-lived. Moments later, Farragut's Travis Bolton was able to beat the West keeper to tie things up at 2-2.

The game then went to sudden death. And in the first 5-minute sudden death period, it was Thompson striking again. His goal set off a Rebel yell, a massive celebration on the soccer field.
