Murfreesboro, TN (WVLT-TV), They call it tense Thursday. High School teams from across the state trying to advance to the championship games in their respective sports at the 2008 Spring Fling.
Good and bad news from the soccer pitch on Thursday at both Oak Ridge and West fall in their Class-AAA semifinal games. However, in Class A-AA, it'll be an all Knoxville final on Saturday as both CAK, the five time defending state champ, and Catholic came up winners. By the way, it was Spencer Payne scoring an incredible five goals in the 6-0 Fighting Irish win over Boyd Buchanan.
Also playing for state title will be Tommy Pharr's Farragut baseball Admirals, who defeated Ravenwood 9-2 Thursday to remain perfect in the 'Boro. The Farragut girls softball team also a big winner, while perennial power Gibbs will have to fight through the loser's bracket after falling to Goodpasture 3-0...
