CLINTON (WVLT) -- The Catholic Fighting Irish showed some fight Friday night.

The green and gold battled back from a fourth-quarter deficit to force overtime against Anderson County, then edged the Mavericks in overtime for a key district win, 51-48.

Catholic struck first in the extra period when Taylor Broussard hit a 15-footer to grab a 48-46 lead. But the Mavs tied the game thanks to an Alan Holt layup.

After an Irish free throw put them ahead 49-48, A-C had one last chance. But a three-pointer from the corner bounced off the rim, and Catholic held on for the key District 4-AA win.
