OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Your WVLT, Volunteer TV Sports Overtime Team has confirmed tomorrow Oak Ridge High School will name the current Hillsboro High School Football Coach, Scott Blade as the Wildcats new leader, replacing Stanton Stevens.

Hillsboro as you may recall was the team which broke Maryville's 74 game win streak at last December's TSSAA High School Football State Championships in Murfreesboro.

Your WVLT, Volunteer TV Sports Overtime Team is hoping to feature an interview with Blade Thursday Night at 10:00p on Pilot's High School Heroes on MyVLT2.

Oak Ridge High School athletics director Mike Mullins confirmed this afternoon that Nashville Hillsboro High School’s Scott Blade has been hired as the next head football coach of the Wildcats.

Blade, 36, led Hillsboro to a 15-0 record and the state Class 4-A championship last season and compiled a three-year mark of 37-5 at the school. The Burros beat Maryville in the 4-A title game in December, ending the Rebels’ 74-game winning streak.

“We’re very excited and fortunate to have a person of coach Scott Blade’s state championship pedigree leading our football program,” said Mullins.

“He represents all of the qualities that we’re looking for in a head coach.”

Blade also served as assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Canyon (Calif.) High School from 2001-05.

Blade replaces Stanton Stevens at Oak Ridge.
