Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT) -- South-Doyle High School has found it's new head football coach, and they didn't have to go very far to find him.

The Cherokees will be coached by Clark Duncan, who is also the school's athletic director.

Duncan informed the Sports Overtime team Thursday afternoon of the decision. He'll take over for the departed Eric Hutchins. Duncan told Sports Overtime that the notion of coaching again was spurred during the interview process of trying to find the Cherokee's new head coach.

Duncan will continue to be South-Doyle's athletic director, a position he's held for six seasons. Prior to that, Duncan spent 17 years coaching the Powell Panthers.
