MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) -- Molly Heady scored 16 points and had seven rebounds to lead Clarkrange to a 57-31 victory over Madison Academic Magnet on Saturday for its eighth Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association Class A girls state championship.

The title wrapped up a perfect season for Clarkrange (39-0), which became the first unbeaten state champion in Class A and the first in the state since Briarcrest Christian went 33-0 in 1998.

Tasha Phillips scored 15 points and Kelli Reed added 12 for Clarkrange.

Clarkrange used a 13-0 run the first four minutes of the game to take control. Phillips and Reed combined to score the first 10 points.

Madison Academic (29-8) scored six straight points -- all by Morgan Faulkner -- to cut the lead to 13-6 with 2:26 remaining.

Faulkner led Madison Academic with 14 points.

Class AA Title Game
Gibson County 54, Livingston Academy 34

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) -- Heather Griffin scored 20 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to help Gibson County to a 54-34 victory over Livingston Academy in the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association Class AA girls championship on Saturday.

The Lady Pioneers became the first Class AA team to win a championship with a perfect record (35-0) since Greene County won the title in 1992.

Livingston Academy pulled within 37-34 on an Alissa Sells free throw with 3:14 remaining, but wouldn't score again.

Gibson County outscored Livingston Academy 17-0 over the last 3:14. Griffin, the tournament MVP, and Heather Butler combined for 11 points in the decisive run. Butler and Aubrey Reedy finished with 12 points each.

Mackenzie Sells scored 12 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead Livingston Academy.

Gibson County converted 26 Livingston Academy turnovers into 24 points. The Lady Pioneers held Livingston Academy to 30 percent shooting from the field (13-of-44), while hitting 40 percent of their shots from the field (17-of-43).

Class AAA Title Game

Hillsboro 62, Memphis Central 61

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) -- Jessica Pace scored 24 points and hit an off-balance runner at the buzzer to give Hillsboro a 62-61 win over Memphis Central in the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association Class AAA girls championship game Saturday night.

Pace drove to the basket from the wing, putting up the shot at the free throw line before falling down. The shot bounced once on the rim as the horn sounded, then dropped in.

Pace also pulled down 11 rebounds for the Burros (34-1).

Hillsboro overcame a three-point deficit to take a 60-55 lead with 1:28 remaining.

Erica Burgess hit two layups in the final 30 seconds, the last with 23 seconds left, to tie the game at 60. She then hit 1 of 2 free throws with 15 seconds remaining for a 61-60 Memphis Central lead.

Danielle Ballard led the Warriors (35-2) with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
