(WVLT) -- Oak Ridge has hired Barry Wortman to coach its boys' basketball team, according to PrepXtra.

Wortman comes to the Atomic City from Morehead State University, where he was associate head coach for three seasons. He has coached at several high schools in Middle Tennessee, including Lincoln County, Shelbyville and Hickman County.

Wortman replaces Ricky Norris, who left to take the head coaching job at Webb.

According to PrepXtra, 33 candidates applied for the job.
