MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) -- The TSSAA's Board of Control has awarded Spring Fling for the next three years to Murfreesboro.

The board heard bid proposals Monday from Chattanooga and the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce.

Murfreesboro has held the event for the past four years. According to The Daily News Journal, it injects an estimated $3.5 million of tourism annually to the local economy.

Chattanooga was the host site for the first nine years of the event.

Spring Fling is an Olympic-style event involving five sports.
