KNOXVILLE (WVLT) -- The Alcoa Tornadoes have swept through the regular season, knocking opponents aside with the ease their nickname would suggest.

The fury continued Friday night with a 24-7 win over also-unbeaten Christian Academy of Knoxville at the Warriors' West Knoxville home.

CAK opened the scoring with a touchdown in the first quarter and led 7-0 after one stanza. But Alcoa quickly stormed back. Running back Jaron Toney scored his 35th touchdown of the year in the second quarter, putting the Tornadoes ahead, 10-7. A Tyler Robinson touchdown catch gave Gary Rankin's team a 17-7 advantage at halftime.

Fullback Taharin Tyson tacked on a third-quarter touchdown to seal the win for Alcoa, who wins the District 4-AA title.

AUSTIN-EAST 19, GIBBS 7
KNOXVILLE -- A penalty-marred contest was ugly but sweet for the Road Runners, who outlasted Gibbs 19-7 to take sole possession of the District 3-AA title.

Cordy Cox scored on an 80-yard run on the first play of the third quarter to put A-E ahead 13-0. Gibbs running back Josh Roberts responded with a 37-yard touchdown run to make the score 13-7, but it wasn't enough. Kwayu Graham's team added a late touchdown to win by double digits.
