SEVIERVILLE (WVLT) -- Sevier County's undefeated season was one yard away from continuing.

After the Smoky Bears scored and faced a 35-34 deficit with 1:10 remaining in their first-round playoff game against Bearden, coach Steve Brewer decided to go for two.

The Bears completed a rollout pass, but Bearden stuffed the receiver before he could get into the end zone, preserving a 35-34 win and moving Bearden into the second round of the TSSAA playoffs.

The Bulldogs and Smoky Bears were tied at 21 at halftime. Bearden scored consecutive touchdowns to take a 35-21 lead, then held on for dear life to get the win.
