COLUMBIA, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A postgame skirmish following Anderson County's state quarterfinal loss to Columbia provided an ugly end to a beautifully played game, which ended in a 50-44 A-C loss.

Maverick quarterback Tanner Williams completed 23 passes for 486 yards to lead his offense to a 44-point performance; however, controversial calls by the officials angered the A-C coaching staff, who protested with the referees immediately after the game.

While several Anderson County coaches were talking angrily with the officials, a Columbia coach got in the faces of the assistants. A pushing-and-shoving match ensued for approximately 30 seconds.

Williams set the state record for passing yards in a season during the game. He finished with more than 4,000 yards during the 2009 campaign.

the columbia coach had no bisness comming to the refs rescue, at that time he is either a coach or cop and by what he is wearing he chose coach, i am sure security was there let them do there job, ac coach should have and could have law suite aginst city or county, for the cops behavior while representing him self as coach not cop
