Oak Ridge girls fall at state tournament, Mo' West moves on
Wildcats lose to Memphis Overton 47-42, while the Trojans beat Walker Valley 49-35.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Oak Ridge girls basketball team fell to Memphis Overton 47-42 Thursday afternoon in the first round of the Class AAA state tournament.
Armeka Booker led the Wildcats in scoring with 20 points, while Jazzmin Hazzard added 13. Dequesha McClanahan chipped in 9 points. They were the only Oak Ridge players to score in the game.
Oak Ridge finishes the year with a 28-6 record.
The Morristown West/Walker Valley game followed Oak Ridge. The Trojans held a 12-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and never trailed from there, as Mo' West advanced with a 49-35 win over the Mustangs.
Allison Jones had a game high 21 points for the Trojans.
Morristown West is now 33-1 on the season. The Trojans now face Memphis Central is the state semifinals. The game will be played Friday at 6:30 EST.
In Class AA girls action, McMinn Central beat Greeneville 65-53.
