ROWAN COUNTY, Ky (WVLT/WSAZ) -- A couple, originally from Pigeon Forge, is charged in connection with a murder in Eastern Kentucky last October.

Kentucky State Police say the Pasco County, FL Sheriff’s Department arrested 50-year old James Kent Conn and his wife, 38-year old Katherine Conn at an RV Park in Dade City, Fla.

They were indicted on Friday by a Rowan County Grand Jury.

Mr. Conn is charged with murder in the death of 28-year old Timothy Scott Riggs of Morehead back on Oct. 29. Mrs. Conn is charged with complicity to commit murder.

Troopers say that Mr. Conn drove to a house where Riggs was staying and shot him in the chest.

According to the Tampa Tribune and WLEX-TV, Riggs' father believes his son was slain because Mr. Conn blamed Timothy Riggs for the overdose death of his son James Brent Conn.

The Conns lived in Pigeon Forge at the time of the murder, but since had moved to Florida. According to the Tampa Tribune, James Conn died of an accidental overdose at a Fort Lauderdale motel on October 5th.

The Conns are being held at the Pasco County Jail awaiting extradition to Kentucky. Florida.
