(Wilderness at the Smokies Resort) -- Project Overview
The Wilderness at the Smokies in Sevierville, Tennessee, is the region’s newest and largest waterpark resort located on 700 acres in one of the nation’s most popular vacation regions. Situated in the scenic foothills of the Smoky Mountains, The Wilderness at the Smokies includes the following facilities:
•Wilderness at the Smokies Stone Hill Lodge Hotel at the Sevierville Events Center
•Salamander Springs Outdoor Waterpark located at Stone Hill Lodge
•Wilderness at the Smokies River Lodge, one, two and three Multi-Room Suites
•The Wild WaterDome Indoor waterpark totaling over 60,000 sq. ft.
•A new Outdoor waterpark at Wilderness at the Smokies Multi-Room Suites – Opening May 2009
The Wilderness at the Smokies is part of Bridgemont, a 1,000-acre development that includes the 240,000-square-foot Sevierville Events Center and the 18-hole Eagle’s Ridge championship golf course. Planned additions to Bridgemont include the Shops at Bridgemont, a 75-acre lifestyle shopping, dining and entertainment complex.
Wilderness at the Stone Hill Lodge Hotel
Wilderness at the Smokies Stone Hill Lodge Hotel, is a full-service property connected to the Sevierville Events Center. The hotel, which opened in June 2008, features 234 rooms, including 6 multi-room suites, all furnished in a “mountain modern” décor with amenities including a refrigerator and microwave. Other Hotel features include:
•Salamander Springs Outdoor Waterpark and Coyote Cove Snack Bar
•Deep Creek and Cade’s Cove meeting rooms for groups up to 135 people
•A fitness center
•Hidden Trail family restaurant
•The Black Bear Boutique, which offers sundries as well as a wide variety of souvenirs.
•Back County Video Arcade, which has dozens of the most popular video games
•Check-in at the Stone Hill Lodge Hotel is at 4 p.m. and check-out is at 11 a.m.
Salamander Springs Outdoor Waterpark (at the Stone Hill Lodge Hotel)
Salamander Springs is an amazing outdoor waterpark reserved exclusively for guests at the Wilderness with thrilling rides, age-appropriate play areas, and more. It includes:
•The Timber Rattler: A 207-foot-long tube slide
•The River Otter: A 180-foot-long body slide
•Lunker’s Landing: A four-level play structure with slides, 750-gallon tipping bucket, and 50 play-and-spray water activities
•Catfish Corral: An activity pool with basketball hoops, balance courses and more
•Minnow Marsh: A zero-depth area with tot swings for the little ones to enjoy
•Wildflower Lagoon: A large hot tub which offers a quiet spot for mom and dad to enjoy.
•Coyote Cove: A convenient place to pick up some fast food or a quick drink to satisfy your hunger.
•Please note towels are provided for guests in all of the Wilderness waterparks.
Wilderness at the Smokies River Lodge Multi-Room Suites
Wilderness at the Smokies River Lodge multi-room suites, which opened December 2009, are available for purchase and also available to rent while visiting the Smoky Mountain region. River Lodge is a four-story “mountain modern” development with 472 fully-furnished units. The suites are connected to the Wilderness at the Smokies Wild WaterDome indoor waterpark. Amenities include:
•Three floor plans ranging from one to three-bedroom layouts to accommodate 2-16 guests
•Full kitchens, flat screen TV, stonework fireplaces
•Private decks
•The Thirsty Miner bar and grill serving hearty soups and sandwiches
•Back Country Video Arcade
Wild WaterDome Indoor Waterpark (at the River Lodge Multi-Room Suites)
The new Wild WaterDome indoor waterpark, which opened December 2009, measures nearly 60,000 sq. ft. It features a see-thru, energy efficient, Foil Tec roof ,which allows UV rays permeate through it so guests can tan indoors year-round. The Wild WaterDome includes:
•The Smokies Surf Rider: Watch out as 50,000 gallons of water flow beneath your feet creating the ultimate surfing attraction
•The Storm Chaser Thrill Ride, a four-person tube slide featuring a 55-foot drop into a swirling, funnel ride.
•The Great Wave, a 10,700 square foot wave pool capable of generating waves up to 5 feet tall
•Magnolia Grove Indoor/Outdoor Hot Spa
•2 Trail Twister Tube Slides
•Washout Mountain, a two-story play structure with a 750 gallon bucket dump, 50 play and spray features, a body slide and kiddy slide
•Snapping Turtle Indoor/Outdoor Play Lagoon
•Flying Squirrel, a special toddler area with 2 mini-slides, and a swing tree
•Grizzly’s Grill, a convenient place to pick up some fast food or a quick drink to satisfy your hunger.

OPENED MAY 2009 - Lake Wilderness Outdoor Waterpark (at River Lodge)
This fun area set to open in May 2009 will include:
•A 12,000 square foot Wave Pool
•Cataloochee Creek - almost 1,000 feet of adventure river !
•BlueGill’s Cove snack bar
•Private Poolside Cabanas with flatscreen TV’s, cabana service from BlueGill’s Cove and misters to keep you cool! – Available for rent
Shuttle Service
A convenient, complimentary shuttle service is available to give guests a ride from one side of the property to the other.
Eagle’s Landing Golf Course
Just down the road, golfers of all skill levels can enjoy a round of golf at Eagle’s Landing. It features 36 holes with 5 sets of tees. Trolley Service

The Developers
The Wilderness Development Corporation is run by the Lucke and Helland families, successful pioneers of the tourism market in the Wisconsin Dells area and developers of the Wilderness Territory in Wisconsin Dells. Over the past 12 years, the partners have developed multiple waterpark resorts located on more than 600 acres in Wisconsin Dells called the Wilderness Territory. Wilderness at the Smokies in Sevierville, Tennessee, is the group’s first venture outside the Dells region.
