KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A U.S. District judge denied a retrial request by Eric Boyd, the man who helped Lemaricus Davidson after Davidson carjacked, kidnapped, raped and murdered Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom in January 2007.
Boyd was convicted in 2008 of being an accessory to the deadly carjacking.
U.S District Court Judge Thomas Varlan denied Boyd's retrial motion Monday.
Varlan sentenced Boyd to 18 years in prison for helping hide Davidson after the crimes against Christian and Newsom.
Davidson has been sentenced to death for the crimes, and his brother Letalvis Cobbins is currently serving a life sentence without parole for his role in the couple's murder.
George Thomas will stand trial for the killings in December, and a trial date has yet to be set for Vanessa Coleman.
