UPDATE 2:53 P.M. -- Moms of both victims take the witness stand in Christian-Newsom murder trial of Vanessa Coleman.

The defense finally put up a fight this afternoon after opting not to cross examine several prosecution witnesses.

Coleman's defense attorney pressed a KPD fingerprint examiner on whether Coleman's prints were found on any of the evidence collected at the crime scene. The examiner admitted that Coleman's prints were not found on any evidence, nor in the TBI fingerprint database.

Stay tuned for more updates.

UPDATE -- The prosecution continued its case against Vanessa Coleman by calling a number of forensic experts and members of the Knoxville Police Department.

Now a stunning admission by a fingerprint examiner today who told the jury even after getting a hit on fingerprints left behind in Channon Christian's S-U-V, her car sat in the police inpound unprocessed for more than 24-hours. All while police were still trying to break the case.
Now another interesting development, defense lawyers so far, opted not to cross examine a single person who testified for the state.

Also, it's been kind of hard to tell if this is the Vanessa Coleman trial because so far today, all testimony has been about other culprits already convicted in this case.

Many courtroom observers are now questioning the strategy by the defense, or if they have a strategy at this point.
