UPDATE KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A star witness witness for the state admits under cross examination she is a liar. And some, including Vanessa Coleman's parents question why Daphne Sutton isn't also on trial in this case.

Sutton is the former girlfriend of Lamaricus Davidson. Her testimony about the Christian-Newsom slayings is controversial because many believe she should also be on trial, but escaped prosecution through a relative who works for KPD.

Defense lawyers called her a liar who can't be trusted.

"You don't remember," the defense lawyer shouted.

"I don't remember what lies I told, no," explained Sutton.

Following this bruising cross examination Sutton stormed from the courtroom in tears, refusing to answer Volunteer TV's questions.

Channon Christian's parents responded to the cloud of suspicion still hanging over sutton.

Volunteer TV posed this question to the Christian family: "a lot of people have equated Daphne's role to Vanessa's role?"

"How? No where close. She was never in that house when Channon and Chris was in that house," said Christian's parents.

The jury clearly seemed troubled by Sutton's testimony and her continued association with Davidson, even after it was revealed he was a suspect in the killings.
