(WVLT) -- Jeremy Chesney was special to both Anderson County and Pigeon Forge high schools.
A star player for the Mavericks, Chesney graduated and moved over to Pigeon Forge, where he served as a volunteer assistant.
Then, on May 4, Chesney died in a car accident, sending both his current and former teams into states of mourning and remembrance. The two teams met on the field Friday night with a berth in next week's state tournament on the line.
Wes Boling was at the game and talked to folks from both schools who shared their memories of Chesney and the perspective they gained from his passing.
