19 retired South Korean athletes graduate from UT

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- For the last four months, 19 former South Korean athletes have been studying at the University of Tennessee.

These athletes spent one semester at Tennessee as part of the Next Generation Sports Talent Program (NEST).

The athletes, which included a retired soccer player to a former fencing champion, studied at the English Language Institute.

Not only did they improve their English language skills, they had the chance to work in their area of athletic expertise, which ranged from sports psychology to sports marketing.

The NEST program is in its third year. More than 50 athletes from South Korea have studied at UT though the program.
