We had an older veteran group last year that finished second in this adidas 7on7 and our young players set a goal of winning it this year,” said Farragut High School Head Coach Eddie Courtney. “We were fortunate to represent Farragut at the University of Tennessee last year and the National Championship and we are looking forward to doing that again this year in Atlanta"
More than 200 teams across the nation will compete in the adidas 7on7 Football Tournament this summer, which has become a proving ground for young football players and a hot bed for college scouts. The tournament allows skill position players to refine their timing and teamwork before their high school season begins and helps players stay in shape year round through competitive playing and conditioning.
“We played at the adidas 7on7 last year and finished second. We set a goal to win it and we had a great day,” said Farragut High School Quarterback Reese Browning. “The whole team played real well, especially our defense and wide-receivers. We are very excited for the adidas 7on7 National Championship.”
The Tennessee adidas 7on7 was the fifth and final 7on7 regional tournament of the summer. Previous tournaments this summer were held at Loyola Marymount University (Los Angeles), University of Notre Dame (South Bend), University of Central Florida (Orlando), and Texas A&M (College Station.) The top two teams from each region will advance to the national championship in Atlanta, Ga. July 30-31.
