CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Another season, another state championship in soccer for Christian Academy of Knoxville.
Saturday afternoon, the CAK girls' soccer team beat Notre Dame 2-1 to claim their third state championship. All three of the titles have come in the last four years, as the program also won it all in 2008 and 2006.
The Warriors' win Saturday gives the school a total of nine state soccer titles, as the boys' program has six titles to its name.
After a scoreless first half, Brittany Hoffman gave CAK a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick. Shortly later, Notre Dame would tie the game at one, but with roughly twelve minutes left in regulation, Hoffman recorded another goal--which turned out to be the game winner.
Hoffman was named MVP of the tournament. CAK finishes the year with an amazing 24-0-1 record.
