LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WVLT) -- Former Tennessee football coach Phillip Fulmer met with University of Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich for half an hour Tuesday regarding the Cardinals' vacant coaching position, a source tells the Sports Overtime team.
Fulmer is reportedly interested in the job after spending the 2009 season away from the sidelines as an analyst at CBS College Sports and as a partner at a local financial management firm.
Fulmer told Volunteer TV last week that he was interested in coaching at a program with a solid history and a commitment to winning.
Louisville fired previous coach Steve Kragthorpe Saturday after three disappointing seasons.

Louisville....really....and you guys are upset about Fulmer coming you guys... and David..."If Fulmer is such a great coach why isn't he being considered for Notre Dame" did you seriously just say that...
James and all other doubters, you would be lucky to have him at Louisville. Definitely a step down for him! However, a great place to compete for championships (if Louisville fans really want that), it is a different mindset and takes a coach and staff that has done it before to do it again. See folks, in the SEC and at The University Tennessee you get run out of town for a 5-7 season, even if you have a 75% winning percentage- that's the mindset here. I can promise you there will be no scandals involving him cheating on his wife and his family or disgracing his players like your basketball coach. If you get him get ready to win- I believe a year off to recharge is what he needed!! Oh, by the way you think you have boosters now- watch what he can do with them. You don't stay at Tennessee for 17 years without knowing how to raise money!! Good Luck Phil if you want it...
Please,,,Mr.Jurich,Please stay away from Fulmer. He was ran out of Tenn. on a rail.He almost destroyed the program there. When I saw you were talking to him I almost died.Talk to the Louisville fans,Take some time to find a good fit for our program.I'm just one person,But I feel like I speak for many
