Lady Vols win 15th SEC regular season title after crushing Kentucky, 81-65
Lady Vols set a school record for blocked shots with 15, while holding the Lady Cats to just 29 percent shooting from the floor.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- (WVLT-TV), The Lady Vols 9-5 finish in SEC play last year may not be a distant memory, but Pat Summitt's team is feeling much better about itself tonight after crushing 16th ranked Kentucky, 81-65.
#4 Tennessee got another terrific performance from center Kelley Cain, who scored 14 points and blocked seven of UT's school record 15 shots Thursday night against the Lady Wildcats. Kentucky, which has never won at Thompson-Boling Arena, trailed from the get-go and were held to just 29 percent shooting from the floor by the lady Vols. Victoria Dunlap scored 22 points for Kentucky (23-5, 11-4). But the fourth-leading scorer in the SEC shot just 6 of 19 from the field, while five players scored in double figures for Tennessee
As a result of the win, Tennessee captures it's 15th regular season conference championship. The Lady Vols, who close out the regular season Sunday night at home (6:00pm.) against Ole Miss, will shoot for their 14th SEC Tournament tile next weekend down in Georgia. The Lady Vols improve to to 26-2 overall and 14-1 in league play.
