MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Fulton's grip on the class AA state basketball championship came to an end Wednesday evening.

The Falcons, winners of the last two state titles, fell to Bolivar Central 38-35 in the quarterfinals of the TSSAA state tournament.

Auburn signee Jalen Steele was 3-13 for the game. He had an opportunity to hit what might have been the game winning shot, but he slipped, his legs came out from under him, and he never got a shot off.

Galen Campbell paced the Falcons with 14 points. Fulton ends the year 29-3.

In class A play, Harriman was knocked out of the tournament by Chattanooga School for Arts and Sciences by a score of 49-44. Oliver Springs was also a first round victim, losing to Grace Baptist 50-44.

Two area teams remain in the tournament. In class AAA, Bearden takes on Beech Thursday at 2:30 p.m. In class AA, Carter will take on Maplewood at 11 a.m.
