Alcoa's Lanxter quits Kentucky football team

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WVLT) -- Former Alcoa wide receiver Kyrus Lanxter has quit the Kentucky football team, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.

Lanxter caught 32 passes for 261 yards and a touchdown during his three years with the Wildcats.

Lanxter's high-school teammate, Randall Cobb, plays wide receiver and quarterback for Kentucky. Former Alcoa tight end Tyler Robinson signed to play for the Cats in February.
