KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - For 11 years Oakes Farm in Corryton has placed a maze in their cornfield. This year it was done in tribute to Trevor Bayne and his car. It was a big honor for the 20 year old. Bayne says, "It's great. I remember coming up here to Oakes Farm to the corn maze for a long time, so. Probably since they started it 11 years ago."

Farm owner Ken Oakes believes that it was a perfect fit, "How often does the winner of the Daytona 500 live right here in our community and I went to school with his mom, we see him at all the ballgames so it's sort of the natural thing to do."

The maze covers 9 acres and includes over 3 miles of trails. To get it to look precise they call in an expert. Co-Farm owner David Black states, "A guy from Idaho uses a GPS. It takes 8 hours. That's how it can be so precise."

The maze takes most people about 45 minutes to complete. As for Trevor Bayne, a guy who used to making only left turns, he has a strategy, "3 lefts make a right, that's all I'm saying. You can go in there and keep making left turns and it would eventually be a right. but I'm pretty good at getting lost. So I'm going to have to take my phone in there and look at the GPS or something, but I think we'll be able to find our way around pretty good."
