Lauren Davis is a WVLT Volunteer TV News anchor and reporter.
It's great to be in East Tennessee!
I come to you from WVLT's sister station WTVY, a CBS affiliate in Dothan, Alabama. I covered South Alabama and the Florida Panhandle for 4 years as the morning anchor and dayside reporter. I covered the military and Fort Rucker, the home of Army Aviation. I was embedded with the United States Army Corps of Engineer in Iraq in 2006 covering stories on the rebuilding and reconstruction there. I also covered President George W. Bush's visit to the Wiregrass after the Enterprise, AL March 1st tornado.
Before Dothan, I spent a year in Jefferson City, Missouri at KRCG, a CBS affiliate, as a reporter and producer.
I'm originally from the North Georgia Mountains in Dahlonega, Georgia. I spent the first two years of college at North Georgia College and State University. I transferred to the University of Georgia and graduated from the Henry Grady School of Journalism in Broadcast News. I was also a member of Kappa Delta Sorority.
Over the years, I've won the Associated Press Award for Best News Anchor, Best Specialized Reporter for my Iraq reporting, and Best Series Reporter for my "Spotlight on a Soldier" series.
In my spare time I like to run, play soccer, volunteer with United Way, spend time with my family and play with my niece, Ellie!
I'll be seeing you on the weekends on WVLT after the Vols football game!
