Bob Yarbrough is a WVLT VOLUNTEER TV News anchor and reporter.
It's funny how things happen.
I came to Knoxville in 1997 planning to spend a few years at WVLT, then move on to "bigger and better" things. I achieved "bigger and better", but didn't have to leave East Tennessee to do so. Since moving here more than ten years ago, I've become a married man (2002), and witnessed the birth of my two daughters. Haley was born in May of 2004, Hannah was born in April of 2006.
I've been in broadcasting for more than twenty years. At the age of 17, I started my radio career at WLSM in my hometown of Louisville, Mississippi, and later worked for 92-KOR while attending college at Mississippi State University. A move to WZYP in Huntsville, Alabama, soon followed. Finally, after working at HOT-95 in Jackson, Mississippi, my radio days came to a close in 1995 at Q-101 in Meridian, Mississippi. TV news came next thanks to my friends at WTOK-TV in Meridian, where I spent two years. In 1997, I made the move to Knoxville and WVLT VOLUNTEER TV.
My wife Kiley and I wed March 30, 2002 while standing next to the Atlantic Ocean in Key Biscayne, Florida. We have two dogs, a Boxer, and a Shih Tzu, both are female, of course. That makes five "girls" and one "guy" in the Yarbrough household, and I couldn't be happier.
We feel extremely blessed to be raising our family in East Tennessee. Thanks for having us, I look forward to hearing from you!
