Title: Blount County Bureau Chief
Email Address: stephen.mclamb@wvlt-tv.com

Stephen McLamb is the WVLT Volunteer TV News Blount County Bureau Chief.

I've found my way to WVLT from Selma, Alabama where I served as a bureau chief for WAKA-TV in Montgomery for nearly nine years which allowed me to also cover news for my hometown of Demopolis nearby. Covering west Alabama was my first television job out of college where I attended both Livingston University and Auburn University. The move to television came after years of radio experience dating back to my teenage years.

It was in Selma where I covered several historical events for the area including the town electing its first African American mayor defeating Joe Smitherman who served back to the civil rights movement. I was also first on the scene to the capture of former black panther H. Rap Brown in Lowndes county Alabama after fleeing from Atlanta police accused of shooting two sheriff's deputies.

Like other Southern communities, the people of East Tennessee are very friendly and it appears maybe more so in Blount county. I'm really looking forward to the new challenge here and becoming a part of the community, as I enjoy doing community service work.

But on my off time, I'm an avid boater. Leaving a town with one river to one with a river and multiple lakes gives me the impression I'm in Heaven! I'm looking forward to meeting the boaters of the area and where the cool places are to go.
