Sara Shookman is a WVLT VOLUNTEER TV Multimedia Reporter.
Every day East Tennessee feels more like home. I don't know if I've picked up a southern drawl, but my closet certainly looks a little orange. The Volunteer spirit is catching!
I'm a Buckeye at heart. I grew up in Akron, Ohio, and attended Ohio University. I graduated summa cum laude from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. I also studied International Business at Universita degli Studi di Torino in Turin, Italy. I was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.
I got started reporting and anchoring for WOUB in Athens, Ohio. I spent three years telling stories about Appalachian life and learning my way around a camera.
When I'm relaxing, you can find me at the Farmer's Market, by the pool, or at a yoga class. I'm also eating my way through Knoxville's delicious restaurants with friends.
I miss the Great Lakes, but love living with the Smokies in the skyline.
I try to get a hike in whenever I can. I also like to travel, go to the movies and experiment in the kitchen.
