(UTSports.com) -- Tennessee Basketball athletic trainer Chad Newman announced that senior Ryan Childress underwent successful surgery to his right knee at UT Hospital late Tuesday afternoon.

The Cincinnati, Ohio, native is expected to be released from the hospital Wednesday and will begin rehabilitation to his knee immediately. A timetable for his return to the court has not been determined. The 6-foot-9 forward suffered the injury last week while playing in a pickup game.
