Knoxville (WVLT) -- 60 names were called during Thursday night's NBA draft. Unfortunately for Chris Lofton, his wasn't one of them.

So now the beloved former Tennessee guard has his sights set on Las Vegas and the NBA's summer league.

"He's gotta choose between a few NBA teams that would like him to be on their summer league," Vols head basketball coach Bruce Pearl told Sports Overtime's Wes Boling Friday afternoon.

"I know the Denver Nuggets and Charlotte Bobcats are two teams that are very interested in him. Which team will give him the best opportunity to play? He'll see if he can make it as a free agent, and if he doesn't, (he'll) then go to Europe where I know he will be very, very successful."

The summer league tips off July 11th and runs thru the 20th. 21 of the NBA's 30 teams will participate.

I think it's really pathetic that Chris Lofton was overlooked in the NBA Draft. He has proven himself many times over that he has extrodinary skills in the sport. There was good reason for his slump last year and I'm sure he will come back even stronger. I wish him well and hope he is very successful whereever he goes. Good Luck Chris.
