Los Angeles, CA (WVLT/AP) It was another big night for the Lady Vols at the annual ESPY awards. Head coach Pat Summitt was named Coach/Manager of the year while Candace Parker was a double winner, earning female athlete of the year and female college athlete honors. She led Tennessee to its second consecutive NCAA national championship before becoming the WNBA's Number-1 draft pick and going to the Los Angeles Sparks.
Candace's Lady Vols were also named best women's collegiate team after defeating Stanford for the 2008 crown. The title was the 8th overall for the Lady Vols and Pat Summitt, who could very well surpass the 1000 win plateau for her career this coming season. The ESPY's, hosted by Justin Timberlake were taped Wednesday night for rebroadcast Sunday night at 9:00PM ET. on ESPN. The folllowing is a list of the winners in their respective categories:
