NEW YORK (WVLT) -- Five-star forward Tobias Harris signed to play basketball for Tennessee Thursday, choosing the Vols over Kentucky, Syracuse, West Virginia, Louisville, Georgia Tech and Maryland.
"It feels great," Pearl told Volquest.com after Harris announced his college choice on ESPNU.. "It's huge for our program. We get not only a quality player like Tobias, but also a quality young man.
"On the floor not only can he be a dominant player, but he also makes everyone around him better."
Harris, who hails from Glen Head, N.Y., is ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 5 prospect in the Class of 2010 and the top forward.
The addition of the 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward makes Tennessee's recruiting class even stronger than it previously was. The Vols also signed two guards, Trae Golden and Jordan McRae, in the early signing period.
