(WVLT) -- Erik Ainge has signed a contract with the New York Jets, marking the official beginning of the former Tennessee quarterback's pro career, according to GoVolsXtra.

No contract details have been released yet.

Ainge started 35 games for the Vols over four years. His 6,308 passing yards rank fourth in Tennessee history.
