(Sports Overtime) -- Is Chief heading south?
There's tons of speculation that John Chavis could be LSU's next defensive coordinator.
Former Georgia coach Jim Donnan only added to those rumors while on an Atlanta sports radio talk show. Donnan said Monday that Chavis and LSU have an agreement in place--that according to The Advocate (a Baton Rouge newspaper).
It is Sports Overtime's understanding, however, at this point, that Chavis hasn't had contact with any schools.
When Tennessee introduced Lane Kiffin on Monday as the coach to replace Phillip Fulmer, Chavis officially became unemployed. Chavis was a mainstay on the Tennessee sidelines for the last 20 years.
This past season, despite a record of 5-7, the Vols ranked fourth nationally in total defense.
