Knoxville, (WVLT-TV), Well for a number of former college football players, the future is now. Included are former Vols Jonathan Crompton and Austin Rodgers, who are working out at the D-1 training facility in Nashville in an effort to improve their NFL draft stock.
Tennessee quarterback Jonathan Crompton, former Vol wide receiver Austin Rodgers and Texas wideout Jordan Shipley were among players working out at the D1 training facility in Nashville Wednesday. The guys are preparing for the upcoming NFL combine and pro days...
The former Vol qb is looking forward to proving his worth at the next level. He said, "..obviously it's in God's hands, I think I showed people what I can do over the last half of last year, and we go from there and a lot of ball I've still got in my head, I still have every notebook I've ever had and note I've ever taken, in my opinion it's prepared for the next level. "Every little thing you can do we've been doing, running the 40, throwing to receivers, I think everybody here has been progressing and doing a good job."
That includes Rodgers, who missed last season after injuring his knee. Rodgers says, "...I know the big question mark right now is my knee and I want to go out at pro day and I want to show them that I can and hopefully get some personalized workouts with some coaches that my knee is healthy and I can do everything full speed."
